Head of Credit Risk Management

Ebury is a leading FinTech firm that offers a range of innovative financial products and services. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Credit Risk team as a key and senior role.
This role will be responsible for the underwriting, oversight, and reporting of Credit Risk exposure and performance of the country subsidiary entity. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in credit underwriting, preferably in the SME space, or experience in financial analysis in the Brazil market.
The successful candidate will be responsible for all stages of the credit lifecycle from origination through to collection and recovery. They will also be required to present to local Board and regulators as necessary.
The role will involve:
- Supporting and reporting to the Senior Credit Risk Management Team;
- Monitoring and reporting portfolio performance to the Board and Risk Management Office;
- Liaising with local regulatory authorities as necessary;
- Performing detailed credit analysis of prospects and clients for the purpose of granting trade finance and currency trading products;
- Approving exposure limits to individual clients up to delegated authority;
- Presenting and defending analysis personally at credit committee meetings to senior management;
- Engaging closely with other teams to ensure a smooth client experience;
- Managing an existing portfolio of clients and monitoring their credit standing;
- Assisting with the collections process for overdue payments;
- Proactively managing the pipeline of work and ensuring SLAs are met;
- Liaising with analysts and managers across geographies to add insight or assist where necessary;
- Sharing thoughts to improve processes and upskill other analysts.
We are looking for a candidate with a clear, structured, and concise communication style, with the ability to explain complex concepts in a coherent way. Experience of dealing directly with clients, one on one, and resolving issues is also essential. A strong understanding of Brazil accountancy principles and an understanding of FX markets and associated vanilla products are also required.
The ideal candidate will complement Ebury's analytical and statistical capabilities with their own country-specific hands-on knowledge of the local market.
