Job Summary
The Credit Settlement Risk Director will play a critical role in protecting Visa from settlement losses by identifying and mitigating risk issues. This position will analyze and monitor existing clients, recommend credit rating assignments, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with credit settlement risk requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform annual and interim credit analysis on existing clients to ensure compliance with credit settlement risk requirements.
- Manage contracts related to trust structures, including fiduciary, escrow account, FIDC, and processor agreements.
- Engage with internal and external senior management to develop strategies that support business growth while addressing risk concerns.
- Respond to ad hoc queries and analytics requirements to support the complex Brazilian regulatory framework.
- Monitor client settlement exposures and portfolio performance, addressing collateral shortfalls promptly.
- Partner with business and functional teams to engage with government stakeholders, fostering sound conditions to operate and maintain compliance with credit settlement risk requirements.
- Anticipate client defaults and manage client defaults to minimize risk exposure to Visa.
- Ensure credit settlement risk issues are adequately identified and mitigated for all Visa products.
Requirements
- 10 years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters/MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD.
- 12-15 years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD.
- Able to demonstrate understanding in credit analysis and ability to develop processes and controls to provide management assurance of risk mitigating controls.
- Ability to clearly articulate results after analyzing large scales of data to senior management as the basis for making key credit decisions.
- Fluent, both written and verbal, in Portuguese and English.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present clear and concise recommendations to senior management, clients, industry stakeholders, and regulators.
