Climate Finance Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of climate finance and the financial sector, as well as excellent project management skills.

\

The role will involve working closely with our research director to deliver key objectives across our strategic priorities. This will include tracking national climate finance flows, aligning finance with low-carbon and climate-resilient development, and assessing key gaps in financing climate action at regional and sectoral levels.

\

As a Senior Analyst, you will be responsible for performing rigorous quantitative and qualitative evaluation of national and international climate finance mechanisms and climate and energy policies. You will also lead/ manage climate finance tracking projects, develop and implement complex research assignments and analytical projects, and train and manage junior staff.

Requirements:

\
  • A post-graduate or master's degree in Economics, Finance, Investment or another relevant field.
  • Significant professional experience in financial services, management consulting, international nonprofit, government, and/or a multilateral institution.
  • Strong understanding of climate finance and the financial sector actors and actions that are needed to mobilize effective finance towards adaptation and resilience activities.
  • Excellent project management skills including time management, task delegation and prioritization, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage and engage stakeholders in the financial sector.
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English.
