Director of Data Protection Compliance

This is a highly specialized role within the organization focused on ensuring all relevant data protection regulations are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and manage the Data Compliance Department, defining roles and hiring experts to ensure adherence to data protection regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain an effective strategy to prevent non-compliance risks and address potential issues as they arise.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the organization and external authorities regarding data protection matters, addressing inquiries and claims in a timely manner.
  • Promote a culture of compliance across all departments, providing expert guidance and education on essential data protection requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits to assess compliance levels, identifying areas for improvement and maintaining records of all data processing activities.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in data protection or a related field, with expertise in US and European data protection laws.
  • Familiarity with CCPA and GDPR regulations, including their implementation and application in real-world scenarios.
  • Experience working within a legal, audit, or risk management department, with strong project management skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with attention to detail and ability to articulate complex concepts clearly.
