Linux Technical Support Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on engineer with eagerness to learn and adapt, who has a passion for Linux and open source technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support for employees via various communication channels.
  • Act as an internal customer advocate, ensuring timely updates and efficient case resolution.
  • Ensure each support case meets our Service Level Agreement (SLA) standards and delivers the highest possible customer satisfaction.
  • Contribute new knowledge base articles and maintain existing ones, promoting shared knowledge and lessons learned.
  • Draft and distribute technical notices for internal and external communication.
  • Prioritize work to accomplish the most important and urgent tasks first.
  • Continuously learn and grow as our products and services evolve.
  • Understand Ubuntu development processes to effectively manage customer expectations.
  • Maintain regular communication and information exchange with the team.
  • Identify opportunities to improve service delivery.
Requirements
  • Exceptional academic record from high school and university.
  • Undergraduate degree in a technical subject or a compelling narrative about alternative chosen path.
  • Confidence to communicate ideas and feedback without hesitation.
  • Track record of exceeding expectations to achieve outstanding results.
  • Experience in Linux troubleshooting, including collecting logs and stack traces, fine-tuning configuration files.
  • Knowledge or basic hands-on experience in 2 or more of: Linux server administration, programming fundamentals, networking, virtualization/cloud computing concepts.
  • Ability to learn quickly, thrive in dynamic environments, and handle pressure of a customer-facing role.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Appreciation of diversity, politeness, and effectiveness in a multi-cultural organization.
  • Result-oriented, driven to meet commitments.
