Key Responsibilities
  • Design a company-wide personalization architecture and strategy that drives business outcomes
  • Solve intricate technical problems related to cold start, exploration/exploitation, real-time learning, and other cutting-edge topics
  • Stay at the forefront of machine learning techniques and implement state-of-the-art approaches
  • Establish standards and patterns used across all ML teams, promoting consistency and excellence
  • Drive cross-functional initiatives spanning multiple quarters, fostering collaboration and innovation
  • Mentor senior engineers, reviewing critical technical decisions and contributing to their growth
  • Represent the organization in the external machine learning community, sharing knowledge and expertise
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience building ML systems, with a strong background in personalization and deep technical expertise
  • Recognized authority in ML systems, with publications, patents, or significant industry impact
  • Proven track record of architecting ML platforms serving billions of predictions, ensuring scalability and reliability
  • Exceptional ability to drive 0→1 innovation in personalization systems, pushing boundaries and achieving breakthroughs
  • Expertise in multiple approaches, including deep learning, bandits, causal ML, graph methods, and more
  • Ability to influence without authority, driving consensus and delivering results
  • Outstanding communication skills, enabling effective engagement with technical and executive audiences

  • Advanced ML architectures at scale, ensuring seamless integration and high performance
  • Real-time ML systems and edge deployment, providing fast and accurate predictions
  • Multi-stakeholder marketplace optimization, balancing competing interests and achieving optimal outcomes
