Lead Artificial Intelligence Engineer

Overview:

We seek a seasoned expert in artificial intelligence engineering with extensive experience in software and AI/ML development.

This role combines expertise in applied AI/ML with strong back-end engineering skills to ensure our systems are functional, scalable, secure, and production-ready.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, fine-tune, and deploy AI agents purpose-built for utility use cases
  • Develop APIs, microservices, and orchestration frameworks that seamlessly connect AI models with enterprise systems and data flows
  • Define and manage the complete AI pipeline ingestion, embeddings, retrieval, evaluation, and continuous deployment
  • Address vulnerabilities unique to AI, such as model drift, bias exploitation, adversarial robustness, and hallucination control
  • Collaborate with software engineers, data specialists, and security teams to integrate AI capabilities into our systems
  • Deliver breakthroughs in code and AI services on cycles measured in weeks, not quarters

Requirements:

  • Excellent English communication skills
  • 5+ years of applied ML/AI engineering experience, ideally with exposure to enterprise/mission-critical systems
  • Strong proficiency in Python and either Golang, Node.js, or Java
  • Expertise with ML/LLM frameworks, such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangChain, or equivalent
  • Experience with vector databases, orchestration frameworks, and modern MLOps practices
  • Track record of deploying AI services in production
  • Strong grounding in cloud-native architectures (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Analytical, collaborative, and comfortable with ambiguity

Desired Experience:

  • University degree or relevant industry experience
  • Experience working on ERP systems or within the power utilities industry
