Compliance Specialist

The Role:

Regulatory compliance is a critical component of proper risk management. The initial person joining as the head of 1st line Compliance would help drive the regulatory agenda with clear accountability and responsibility. They would support prioritized teams who are facing regulatory challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Understanding applicable regulations and explaining them to the business according to its realities.
  • Reading regulations and understanding their implications for the business, ensuring requirements are fully mapped through existing processes.
  • Providing assessment to the 1st line through the discovery of regulatory requirements.
  • Co-creating and finalizing action plans to be compliant with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Aligning possible dependencies with other departments and helping with prioritizations exercises of different projects.
  • Coordinating and supporting on responses and data shared with regulators and external/internal auditors.
  • Supporting the planning and coordination of inspections when they happen.
  • Empowering product teams with knowledge and tools making compliance a competitive advantage of the innovation process.
  • Performing regulatory assessments proactively and creating timely reports for leadership teams.
