Location: Sao Paulo

Position Overview:

As an Equity Research Strategist specializing in the dynamics of emerging market equities, you will join a rapidly growing global team dedicated to providing insightful research and thought leadership on equity markets, investment themes, and their implications for investment strategies within your region. This position entails continuous evaluation of macroeconomic indicators and earnings trends that influence key markets and sectors under your purview, alongside comprehensive market performance and relative value assessments, contributing to the broader analysis of emerging and global equity landscapes.

Your role as a thematic equity strategist will require you to cultivate robust model-driven insights on markets, including emerging technologies and pertinent topics, while collaborating with analysts across the globe. You will partner closely with data scientists, engineers, and product managers to develop new datasets and enhance the Bloomberg Intelligence thematic strategy offerings. Your responsibilities will include the creation and maintenance of thematic universes using Bloomberg's established methodology. As a member of the global equity strategy team, you will integrate your regional market insights into our overarching equity framework. Regular publication of data-driven insights and analytical models will be essential to establish your reputation as a thought leader in the field.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Generate flagship content and on-demand research focused on thematic investing and regional equity markets.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to refine regional equity strategies.
  • Mentor and support the development of junior team members.
  • Enhance the visibility of Bloomberg Intelligence's equity and thematic strategy offerings.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as an investment strategist focusing on equities, sectors, or themes.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce data-driven analyses of equity markets.
  • Experience in developing distinctive research products.
  • Proficient in managing client relationships and engaging stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation capabilities.
  • Strong organizational and analytical thinking skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with the Bloomberg Terminal.
  • Experience on the sell-side or buy-side.
  • Familiarity with equity market indices and econometric datasets.
  • High attention to detail and strong research abilities.
  • Programming skills in Python, MATLAB, or R.
  • Advanced degree and/or CFA, CMT designation.
