Bloomberg Intelligence - Equity Research Strategist for Emerging Markets in Latin America

Location: Sao Paulo

Position Overview:

As an Equity Research Strategist focusing on fundamental and thematic factors influencing emerging market equities, you will join a dynamic and expanding global team. Your responsibilities will include conducting in-depth research and providing thought leadership on equity markets, investment themes, and their implications for investment strategies in your region. This role entails continuous analysis of macroeconomic indicators and earnings trends impacting key markets and sectors within your coverage area, alongside detailed assessments of market performance and relative value analysis, contributing to a broader understanding of emerging and global equity markets.

As a thematic equity strategist, you are expected to cultivate robust model-driven insights on markets, including emerging technologies and relevant topics, collaborating with analysts from around the globe. You will partner closely with data scientists, engineers, Bloomberg Index, and Core Product managers to develop new datasets and enhance the BI thematic strategy product. Your responsibilities will also include creating and maintaining theme universes utilizing BI's theme construction methodology. As part of the global equity strategy team, you will integrate your regional market insights into our overarching global equity framework. The role necessitates regular publication of data-driven insights and analytical models to establish your reputation as a thought leader.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Produce flagship content and on-demand research regarding thematic investing and regional equity markets.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to refine regional equity strategies.
  • Mentor and support the development of junior team members.
  • Improve the visibility of BI's equity and thematic strategy offerings.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience as an investment strategist focusing on equities, sectors, or themes.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce data-driven analyses of equity markets.
  • Experience in developing unique research products.
  • Proficiency in managing client relationships and engaging stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.
  • Strong organizational and analytical thinking skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with the Bloomberg Terminal.
  • Experience on the sell-side or buy-side.
  • Familiarity with equity market indices and econometric datasets.
  • High attention to detail and strong research capabilities.
  • Programming skills in Python, MATLAB, or R.
  • Advanced degree and/or CFA, CMT designation.
