Senior Category Manager Job Opportunity

This is a key position in our global procurement organization.

We are seeking a seasoned professional with expertise in category management to lead our EMEA Group Purchasing team. As a strategic partner, you will be responsible for driving customer satisfaction and business performance within your area of responsibility.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Category Strategy Development: Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies using existing purchasing tools.
  • Supplier Negotiation: Facilitate and coordinate supplier negotiations to achieve optimal pricing and terms.
  • Tendering Process Management: Oversee the tendering process, including eRFI, RFQs, and e-auctions, to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing.
  • Market Knowledge: Gain and maintain in-depth market knowledge to inform sourcing decisions.
  • Supplier Selection and Approval: Select and negotiate overall purchase conditions with suppliers.
  • Supplier Portfolio Optimization: Oversee and optimize the supplier portfolio to ensure maximum value.
  • Contract Coverage: Ensure contract coverage and compliance.
  • Cost Out Activities: Drive cost out initiatives to reduce costs.
  • Supplier Performance Monitoring: Regularly monitor supplier performance against targets and agreed-upon development activities.
  • Supply Chain Audits: Participate in system audits, CSR audits, and other supply chain-related activities.
  • Supply Chain Improvements: Collaborate with local units to drive supply chain improvements and initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Technical Education or Experience: Relevant technical education or experience within Electronics.
  • Experience in Sourcing: At least 5 years of relevant experience within sourcing in a global organization.
  • Industry Experience: Experience in industry, large manufacturing environments.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills at senior executive levels and other levels internally and externally.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Practical and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Process Coordination: Ability to coordinate complex processes or projects.
  • ERP System Experience: Experience with SAP as an ERP system.
  • Language Skills: Fluent English communication skills.
  • Cultural Competence: Ability to work in global organizations, across geographical and cultural differences.
