Construction Manager

This role focuses on managing data center construction projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.

About the Role:
  • Oversee construction activities for new region builds, encompassing project scope, timeline, and budget management.
  • Provide construction management services for initiatives enhancing data center resilience.
  • Evaluate constructability of electrical and mechanical system designs for new data centers or optimized existing facilities.
  • Create project scope and equipment requirements, assist with request for proposals, and capital requests.
  • Ensure total project quality through commissioning and integrated system testing, overseeing project execution.
  • Maintain Request for Information process during construction, coordinate construction administration with engineers.
  • Document and report key metrics to team members and management.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, including new data center building and capital improvement projects associated with existing data centers.
  • Support installed facilities operationally, reviewing procedures, best practices, and maintenance initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience in construction/program management for mission critical facilities.
  • 10+ years of experience in construction management or construction project management.
  • 7+ years of general contractor and vendor management experience (request for proposals, bidding, change orders, quality control, RFI/submittal tracking) associated with construction and project execution.
  • Familiarity with electrical engineering best practices, including breaker coordination studies, switchgear sequence of operation.
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations, including Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, and Brazilian equivalents.
  • Experience developing & managing projects in multiple countries.
  • Experience leading conflict resolution with co-located and geographically dispersed multi-cultural teams.
  • Ability to meet entry requirements for regions and countries outside of assigned office location.
  • Fully bilingual (proficient in Portuguese and English communication, both spoken and written).
