Software Development Leader

We are seeking a seasoned professional to spearhead our software development efforts. The ideal candidate will possess 6+ years of experience in crafting product software for public consumer web applications.
This role encompasses writing and shipping high-quality code, contributing to an evolving engineering organization, and actively participating in product iteration and development.
Write and ship high-quality code, contributing across the codebase to complete entire features and changes with support from the team. Invest in quality and reliability through unit tests, automated integration tests, TDD, and refactoring.
Contribute to a continuously improving engineering organization. Identify software quality, performance, and operational issues, and work constructively with the team to address them. Define and improve internal engineering standards and processes, exerting positive influence on team objectives and tactics.
Contribute actively to product iteration and development, ensuring the company delivers a compelling experience to its customers. Generate ideas, assess options, and work across functional teams to translate business and product ideas into software designs and releases.
Key qualities include dedication to simplicity, shared ownership, strong communication and teamwork skills, and relentless resourcefulness.
RequirementsFront-end: Proficiency in React/Redux/ImmutableJS.
Back-end: Experience with Ruby-on-Rails / Ruby, GCP, AWS, Postgres.
Ruby experience is highly preferred.
General experience in unit testing, integration testing.
Past experience or interest in pair programming.
Familiarity with queue/background processing, 3rd party integrations.
Familiarity with Event Sourcing and other immutability/functional-programming patterns.
TDD experience is a plus.
