Job Title: Data Manager

Data managers play a crucial role in ensuring the effective use of data within an organization. They design, develop, and implement data infrastructure to accelerate analysis and reporting.

A key aspect of this job is reviewing and verifying the accuracy and quality of data presentations, manuscripts, graphs, and tables. Developing standards for data handling and archiving is also essential.

Data management plans and instructions must be maintained to ensure the smooth operation of complex business systems.

The integration of new technologies and initiatives into existing data standards and structures requires careful oversight. Database changes should be evaluated against business requirements and design documents.

In addition, data managers must assess system performance and recommend improvements to hardware, software, and data storage.

Core Competencies and Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with database design and systems, as well as database technology and logical data analysis.
  • The ability to analyze, interpret, and organize large amounts of data.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex information in non-technical terms.
  • An in-depth understanding of modern database and information technologies.
  • Strong math, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Effective time management skills to meet multiple deadlines.
  • The ability to compile and present findings and data to management.
  • A thorough understanding of data administration duties such as collection, analysis, and distribution.

Minimum Requirements:

A bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field is preferred. Candidates with a bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, or other science-related fields are likely to possess excellent math and analytical skills necessary for success in this role.

3-5 years of experience in data management is desirable but not required. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database design, implementation, and maintenance, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
