Job Description

A 9-month plus opportunity for a major firm in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The role is a hybrid schedule with three days on-site and two days remote. Experience with Workday Payroll is essential.

  • Maintain all critical payroll controls and procedures to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of payroll processing.
  • Assist overseeing all aspects of wage attachment processing.
  • Ensure payroll administration and accounting processes are regularly evaluated and streamlined.
  • Promptly execute pre- and post-processing audits to validate payroll accuracy.
  • Enter and release off-cycle payments as needed.
  • Collaborate with teams on all payroll issues.
  • Serve as the Tier 3 authority for payroll matters referred by HR.
  • Handle various payrolls for active corporate employees, retirees, and those with disabilities.
  • Coordinate the resolution of escalated service requests from HR within established parameters.
  • Cross-train payroll staff in routine payroll policies and processes.
  • Maintain a wide variety of payroll information, files, and records for reference and compliance.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum of 4 years of demonstrated experience in payroll functions.
  • Ability to function as a working payroll lead processing payroll and as backup for vacation and/or high-volume periods.
  • Strong focus on customer service and partnership with HR Shared Services Center.
  • Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Highly autonomous and self-motivated with sound judgment and initiative.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude; highly analytical with attention to detail.
  • Effective communicator with ability to correspond verbally and in writing across multiple constituencies.
  • Accomplished interpersonal and time management skills to prioritize multiple projects.
  • Effective manager capable of engaging and leveraging expertise of assigned team members.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access).
  • Knowledge of payroll administration, controls, governance, and accounting best practices.
  • Understanding of current federal, state, and local regulatory and compliance obligations related to payroll.
  • Strong proficiency with Workday Payroll module; Workday HCM knowledge preferred.
Benefits

This position pays $35.00 per hour on a W-2 hourly basis.
