Marine Claims Specialist

As a marine claims specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting policyholders during challenging times. Our team leverages expertise to provide exceptional service and drive total cost of claim improvement.

  • Handle equipment breakdown claims from initial notification through to final settlement within agreed levels of authority and service standards.
  • Review notices of claim and documents provided by clients.
  • Review and input reserves.
  • Oversee work of vendors, including lawyers, accountants, experts, and loss adjusters.
  • Communicate with clients, service providers, and brokers to obtain information and resolve appeals and complaints.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective claims strategies to ensure timely and accurate resolution.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to direct claims efforts and optimize outcomes.
  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure high-quality services and optimal costs.
  • Provide expert communication and negotiation skills to resolve complex claims issues.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced English language skills are a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong knowledge of technical claims topics, particularly equipment breakdown claims.
  • Policy language skills for accurate and consistent interpretation.
  • Ability in negotiation, mediation, and alternative dispute resolution.
