Role Summary

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) team in South America. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced EHS leader to make a positive impact on the region's operations while driving sustainability and improving health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine the strategic direction of EHS initiatives through effective implementation of the Ball Operational Excellence program.
  • Leverage expertise to develop and deploy EHS Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and streamline processes, automate data collection, and apply Lean principles to enhance department efficiency.
  • Promote continuous improvement efforts focused on reducing safety and environmental risks for employees and local communities.
  • Develop plant and functional safety rules, processes, and tools in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to global EHS standards, deploy requirements, and drive compliance with relevant laws and regulations in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, and Paraguay.
  • Direct industrial hygiene and occupational health initiatives, assessments, and surveillance monitoring across the SA manufacturing footprint.
  • Provide guidance on EHS-related responses and corrective actions affecting regional operations.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Operations, Human Resources, Risk Management, and Global Fire Protection to maintain or achieve Highly Protected Risk (HPR) status.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding EHS performance, achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science/Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience providing EHS services and support to large, multi-site manufacturing operations, demonstrating leadership in ensuring compliance with regulations and laws.
  • Expertise in occupational health and safety, environmental leadership/governance in a large manufacturing environment, and experience driving culture change within an organization.
  • Solid experience leading and managing a team of EHS professionals, guiding them through large health and safety improvement projects and change management initiatives.
  • Advanced English fluency is mandatory; advanced Spanish is highly desirable.
