We are seeking a highly skilled Business Control Officer to collaborate with our business units in managing risks and achieving their strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will balance risk management and business priorities, leading by example and empowering the first line of defense to become proactive risk owners.
About the Role- The Business Control Officer will focus on three key areas: Process Governance, Risk Management, and Performance Measurement.
- Support and coordinate the business in managing first-line risk management activities.
- Bolster governance within the organization through practical and non-bureaucratic approaches.
- Develop and rate the internal control and risk environment.
- Proactively identify risk areas and drive remediation activities.
- Add a risk lens to strategic planning and product development.
- Strong knowledge of operational and non-financial risk management.
- A hands-on approach, taking ownership where possible.
- Independence and proactivity.
- Ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Quick learner with excellent communication skills (concise and clear).
- Familiarity with SOX principles is an asset.
- Willingness to improve and challenge the status quo.
- Ability to challenge various lines of defense.
