Packaging Development Manager


Overview:

As a Packaging Development Manager, you will lead the development and validation of packaging components, labeling, and systems to support business activities and quality compliance projects.

The role requires expertise in packaging line trials and testing, as well as experience with different packaging technologies and work processes. You will also have excellent communication skills, negotiation skills, and leadership abilities.

This position offers a challenging opportunity to develop and lead strategic packaging initiatives for multiple brands, deliver short-term and long-term goals, and drive standardization, cost savings, and issue resolution.

You will be accountable for commitments to projects, provide project oversight/planning, and manage the performance and development of direct reports.

Key responsibilities include providing operational management and leadership for a team of scientific and technical support staff, leading package development and life cycle management initiatives, developing and writing documentation, and partnering with R&D teams and other departments.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in packaging, engineering, or a related science field, extensive experience in engineering management, and previous experience managing budgets and resources.

A proactive approach to EH&S initiatives and support safety programs deployment is required. Knowledge of GMP, hygiene practices, and quality system requirements is also necessary.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in packaging, engineering, or a related science field.
  • Extensive experience in engineering management & project experience at Pharma company or Consumer Manufacturing.
  • Experience in packaging line trials and testing, and exposure to different packaging technologies and work processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, negotiation skills, and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional environment relating to R&D, Marketing, Operations, Sales, etc.
  • Previous experience establishing project success criteria and monitoring activities.
  • Understanding of GMP, Hygiene Practice and Quality System requirements.
