Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Compliance Counsel to join our team in Brazil and support 3M's operations in the region.

About the Role

The Compliance Counsel will provide substantive counseling on anti-corruption and Code of Conduct issues, supporting business units and functional groups across various geographies. Key responsibilities include advising clients on compliance matters, reviewing and approving high-risk transactions, and contributing to compliance processes such as risk assessments and audits.

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of managing diverse teams, working independently, and establishing strong relationships with leadership and stakeholders. Fluency in English, Spanish, and Portuguese is required, with additional languages being a plus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Substantive Counseling: Provide expert advice on anti-corruption and Code of Conduct issues, ensuring alignment with 3M's policies and laws.
  • Third Party Selection and Screening: Review and approve third-party due diligence plans, draft compliance clauses, and provide training to third parties.
  • Business Conduct Committees (BCC): Act as a steward of BCCs, ensuring leadership engagement and participation in leadership forums.
  • Building Strong Compliance Culture: Develop and deliver training content, promote a speak-up culture, and measure effectiveness through Ethics and Compliance metrics.
  • Involvement in Global/Area Compliance Initiatives: Plan and execute risk assessments, participate in compliance evaluations, and contribute to global compliance communication strategy.
Requirements
  • Advanced to fluent in English and Spanish (speak, listen, write) and native in Portuguese.
  • Track record of managing diverse, multicultural teams and working independently.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of time.
Estimated Salary Range

$120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
