Job Title: Campus Security Supervisor

About This Role:

The Campus Security Supervisor plays a crucial part in maintaining a safe and secure campus environment by overseeing the daily activities of security personnel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage shift operations, training, and patrol activities to ensure optimal safety and security levels.
  • Direct traffic, control crowds, and maintain well-organized security facilities to prevent accidents and ensure smooth operations.
  • Provide regular training and instructions to subordinates to enhance their performance and efficiency.
  • Interpret and disseminate policies, procedures, and directives from relevant departments and government agencies.
  • Prepare and review administrative reports, including recommendations for employee awards and disciplinary actions.

In addition to these responsibilities, the Campus Security Supervisor is also accountable for:

  • Inspecting security personnel and assigning them to critical areas to maximize their impact and effectiveness.
  • Issuing equipment and ensuring accountability to maintain high standards of security and safety.
  • Making recommendations for policy and procedure improvements to enhance the overall security posture of the campus.
  • Responding to serious incidents and unforeseen events, and serving as liaison with outside law enforcement agencies.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Knowledge of criminal law, including elements of offenses and methods of law enforcement.
  • Ability to use firearms and other standard police equipment.
  • Excellent public and customer relations skills, with the ability to use tact, diplomacy, and decorum when responding to inquiries and complaints.
  • Ability to remain emotionally stable and display mature judgment and tact in explosive situations.

To be successful in this role, applicants must have a High School Diploma or equivalent, and at least five years of responsible work experience in law enforcement or security, including two years at a supervisory level. A written examination and an Assessment Phase of the employment process are also required.
