Manufacturing Operations Manager

Oversee all aspects of contract manufacturing, focusing on financial accountability, supply chain optimization, and quality control.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage contract terms to ensure compliance with business agreements
  • Monitor and implement corrective actions for manufacturing outcomes
  • Manage cost of goods sold (COGS) and update forecasts as necessary
  • Challenge teams on raw material cost variations
  • Manage shelf life and obsolescence
  • Manage losses for bulk and filling lines
  • Discuss profit and loss statements with Contract Manufacturers
  • Manage quotes for extra manufacturing activities
  • Manage transportation costs
  • Propose savings for cost reductions
  • Manage new product launch timelines and technical transfers
  • Provide quarterly rolling forecast updates
Financial Analysis:
  1. Perform financial analysis for extra demands and costs
  2. Deliver monthly and quarterly cost reports to top management
  3. Track expenditures in manufacturing processes
  4. Conduct financial studies and simulations
  5. Analyze obsolescence and provide inventory levels
Supply Chain Optimization:
  1. Collaborate with procurement to ensure accurate lead times, MOQs, and costs
  2. Support manufacturing service levels with quality teams
  3. Ensure smooth transitions from technology transfers
  4. Work with internal planning teams for forecast updates
  5. Stimulate continuous improvements through lean initiatives
  6. Update regional teams on new projects and launches
Supply Planning:
  1. Guarantee contractors meet needs on time and quantity
  2. Assess production capabilities of Contract Manufacturers
  3. Follow execution activities with Contract Manufacturing teams
  4. Support manufacturing teams on cost and project charts
Reporting and Insights:
  1. Provide updated financial reports, scorecards, and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  2. Cost analysis by product, COGS, and business unit
  3. Quarterly rolling forecast cost analysis per business unit
  4. Development and money gate cost analysis per product
  5. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) per product and business unit
  6. Predictive value (PPV) for business units
  7. Landed cost per product and business unit
  8. Contractor financial interests when applicable
  9. On-time-in-full (OTIF) from all contractors by product and business unit
