Linux Team Lead

A challenging opportunity to lead an engineering team in optimising Ubuntu, the world's most widely used Linux desktop and server, for the latest silicon.
This role involves strategic leadership, technical expertise and collaboration with commercial partners to deliver a delightful, optimised, first-class Ubuntu experience on their platforms.
You will have the opportunity to develop your team through coaching, mentoring, leading by example and feedback. You will also oversee commercial engagements and ensure timely delivery on agreed project milestones.
This position requires an ongoing commitment to strict quality and reliability standards.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of engineers to design and implement the best Ubuntu integration for IoT and server-class hardware platforms and software stacks.
- Engage with commercial partners to deliver a top-notch Ubuntu experience on their platforms.
- Develop your team through effective coaching, mentoring and feedback.
- Oversee commercial engagements and support timely delivery on agreed project milestones.
- Ensure adherence to high-quality and reliability standards.
- Proven technical leadership experience and a strong background in software engineering.
- Experience working with Linux distributions, debian packaging and high-performance, server-class hardware.
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to interpret business challenges and communicate solutions effectively.
- Demonstrated experience managing or leading a team of software engineers.
- Understanding of agile software development methodologies.
- Strong English communication skills, both written and oral.
