Job Summary

The position of Cloud Professional Services Manager entails leading and developing a team of engineers, comprising individuals with varying levels of experience.

  • Operate remotely within a single major time zone.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and career development feedback to team members.
  • Identify and measure key performance indicators for team health.
  • Implement structured engineering processes.
  • Represent the team and product to stakeholders, partners, and customers.
  • Promote and develop excellent engineering and organizational practices.
  • Plan and manage progress on agreed goals and projects.

Responsibilities include:

  • Knowledge of cloud computing concepts & technologies, such as Kubernetes, OpenStack, AWS, GCP, Azure, Ceph, etc.
  • Practical expertise in Linux and networking.
  • Experience in technical pre-sales activities.
  • A dynamic individual who thrives in new projects and interacts effectively with people.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Passion and a track record of developing and growing people.
  • Leadership, coaching, and mentoring experience in an engineering context.
  • Organized and able to ensure timely delivery of high-quality results by the team.
  • An exceptional academic background from high school and, preferably, university as well.

This opportunity involves managing a Professional Services team (Field Engineering) that helps customers understand and implement Canonical's open-source solutions in public clouds and their own data centers.

The portfolio includes on-premise cloud solutions like OpenStack, MicroCloud, and Ceph, along with solutions deployable either on-premises or in public clouds such as Kubernetes, Kubeflow, Spark, PostgreSQL, etc.
