We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join our team in LATAM. This role involves managing the payroll process for approximately 150 employees across six countries, including Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru. As we expand globally, this position may also involve managing payroll operations for Canada.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll management, with experience in implementing and maintaining payroll processing systems. They will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions, including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
The Payroll Manager will also be responsible for preparing and maintaining accurate records and reports of payroll transactions and stock runs, including related withholdings. They will balance and resolve payroll discrepancies through year-end adjustments and tax form processing.
In addition, the Payroll Manager will ensure compliance with federal and municipal laws and best practices. They will provide customer and stakeholder support for issues that arise and develop plans for problem-resolution and mitigation.
The Payroll Manager will also be responsible for conducting performance evaluations, training and development, salary change recommendations, promotions, disciplinary actions, and terminations. They will prepare reconciliations and journals and facilitate statutory audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of experience in payroll management, including experience working with a team. They must be proficient in Portuguese, Spanish, and English and have extensive knowledge of payroll and benefits-related expertise in LATAM countries. Certified Payroll Professional designation is preferred.
Experience with payroll system implementations and integrations, proficiency using CloudPay and/or NetSuite, and experience working with benefits vendors are also highly desirable. The Payroll Manager will work closely with the Accounting leadership team on metrics and projects on an ad-hoc basis.
