Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Production Manager to lead and manage on-location shoots, translating the creative vision into real-world environments. This role is responsible for working directly with talent, crew, and clients to guide field productions from setup to wrap.

The ideal candidate is a confident leader and clear communicator who can manage complex shoots while maintaining a strong creative focus and logistical efficiency.

  • Direct field shoots across a range of formats including interviews, b-roll, branded content, and documentary footage
  • Collaborate with producers, writers, and directors to execute the creative vision on location
  • Lead cast and crew during field production, providing direction on performance, blocking, and pacing
  • Scout locations and provide input on visual strategy, environmental conditions, and logistics
  • Ensure proper setup of cameras, lighting, and sound to achieve intended aesthetic and technical quality
  • Coordinate closely with DPs, camera operators, and audio technicians on coverage and shot execution
  • Problem-solve quickly in the field to adapt to changing conditions or client needs
  • Maintain clear and calm communication on set, ensuring shoot days run smoothly and efficiently
  • Work with post-production teams to deliver detailed field notes, shot logs, and script continuity
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 4+ years of experience directing or producing field shoots in film, TV, documentary, or commercial settings
  • Strong storytelling instincts and a creative eye for composition and performance
  • Proven ability to lead crews and work collaboratively with technical departments and talent
  • Familiarity with industry-standard camera systems and lighting setups
  • Experience working in both scripted and unscripted formats is a plus
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and time management skills
  • Comfortable managing tight schedules, variable weather, and unexpected location challenges
  • Strong understanding of production logistics, permitting, and set protocols
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel for productions
