We are seeking an exceptional Content Strategist & Luxury Travel Writer to join our team in crafting bespoke luxury travel experiences across the Nordics.

About the Role:

This is a full-time contractor position, requiring strong writing skills tailored for both B2C and B2B luxury travel brands. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of SEO and be able to adapt tone and content strategy to different audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop high-quality blog content for both B2C and B2B audiences, optimized for search rankings, engagement, and lead generation.
  • Craft compelling narratives that showcase Icelandic and Nordic culture, landscapes, and authentic experiences, aligned with the luxury storytelling goals of each brand.
  • Optimize website content for SEO by conducting keyword research, structuring content strategically, and integrating metadata.
  • Update and refresh existing blog content to maintain relevance, improve search visibility, and boost engagement.
  • Research destinations, travel trends, and industry developments to create authoritative and insightful articles.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and SEO teams to refine the content strategy for both Unknown Nordics Luxury Travel (B2B) and Reykjavik Out Luxury Tour (B2C).
  • Create occasional blog-style posts or adaptations for social media platforms, ensuring tone and format match each channel's audience.
  • Evaluate all content against brand guidelines while balancing creativity and consistency.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Technical Skills:

  • Proven experience in blog writing, content creation, or journalism, ideally within travel, luxury, or hospitality.
  • Strong knowledge of SEO best practices: keyword research, meta descriptions, on-page optimization, and content structuring.
  • Proficiency in content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress or Webflow.
  • Excellent English writing skills, with flawless grammar and engaging storytelling ability.
  • Ability to conduct in-depth research and translate insights into high-value, tailored content.
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and SEO performance tools.

Soft Skills:

  • Exceptional storytelling and copywriting skills, adaptable for different tones and audiences (B2B vs B2C).
  • Strong analytical mindset to interpret SEO results and refine content strategies.
  • Attention to detail, ensuring polished, culturally authentic, and error-free content.
  • Time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines while juggling multiple projects.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with remote teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience writing for luxury brands or travel agencies.
  • Background in journalism, creative writing, or digital marketing.
  • Knowledge of Icelandic or Nordic culture, destinations, and luxury travel trends.
  • Experience creating content for both websites and social media platforms.
