Dynamic Positioning Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading global expert in the field of maritime and energy solutions.

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Dynamic Positioning Specialist to join our team of professionals in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to our Dynamic Positioning business lines in the region and globally, managing related projects using professional experience and basic principles.

The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years hands-on experience as Chief Engineer / Chief Electrician, DP Superintendent or DP Consultant/Surveyor/Engineer, and will be fluent in spoken and written English and Portuguese.

In addition to their technical expertise, the successful candidate will also possess strong commercial awareness and ability to establish effective working relationships with clients.

The position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the energy transition across the renewables, maritime, and oil and gas sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide support to the Dynamic Positioning business lines in the region and globally, managing related projects using professional experience and basic principles.
  • Carry out Dynamic Positioning Technical Projects & Dynamic Positioning Assurance Projects.
  • Help to oversee progress and deliverables for projects ensuring schedules and budgets are met.
  • Help to prepare tenders and proposals in relation to the Dynamic Positioning services offered.
  • Maintain and develop new and existing clients through appropriate proposition and relevant liaison to optimize quality of service, business growth and client satisfaction-raising commercial awareness.
  • Ensure all operations, deliverables and quality of reports are in accordance with approved instructions, and ABL procedures and policies.
  • Provide training, mentoring and motivation to co-workers.
Requirements:
  • Chief Engineer (STCW III/2) or Degree equivalent electrical engineer with significant DP related experience and training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • DP maintenance certification from one of the major manufacturers.
  • At least 10 years hands-on experience as Chief Engineer / Chief Electrician, DP Superintendent or DP Consultant/Surveyor/Engineer.
  • Working knowledge of DP vessels, Marine and Electrical Engineering systems and equipment.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English and Portuguese.
  • Technically and commercially astute.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationship with clients Competent in report writing and using Microsoft software including Word, Excel etc.
