Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Highway Engineer to join our team. As a key member of the Access Design team, you will be responsible for assisting in outside contact and communication pertaining to specific projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent oral and written communication skills, and knowledge of CAD Software (MicroStation or AutoCAD or OpenRoad).

  • This is a full-time position with a mid-senior level of seniority.
  • The successful candidate will be able to work on multiple projects and meet multiple deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in outside contact and communication pertaining to specific projects.
  • Capital improvement planning including providing cost estimates, feasibility studies, and developing recommendations and innovative solutions.
  • Work with multi-disciplinary teams on tasks such as intersection design, traffic signal design, roadway signing and pavement marking plans, and traffic and signal operations analysis.
  • Obtaining, analyzing, PennDOT's Highway Occupancy Permit Design Criteria/procedure HOPs.
  • Assisting in the preparation or modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, impact studies, permits, and designs for projects.
  • Reviewing construction site to monitor progress and other duties per the contract documents.
  • Serving as on-site project representative.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (required)
  • EIT, FE, or PE (not required, but preferred)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Valid Driver's License
