About the Opportunity

First Help Financial, a leading provider of auto loans to underserved communities, is seeking a skilled UI/UX Designer to join its innovative Engineering team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for designing user-centered solutions that drive business growth and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to gather requirements and develop workflows for software product pipelines
  • Create designs using wireframes, storyboards, process flows, and sitemaps to capture and convey product functionality and roadmaps
  • Develop UI mockups and prototypes that effectively convey application functionality and appearance, using tools like Figma and Invision
  • Present and refine initial designs to internal teams and key stakeholders
  • Work with product owners to disseminate product designs and roadmaps to engineering teams for development and delivery
  • Assist in refining product design, development, and delivery using user feedback
  • Identify and resolve UX issues and make layout adjustments based on user feedback
  • Develop and improve the FHF Design System for internal and external applications, collaborating with development teams to evolve the component library
  • Conduct user research, studying usage behaviors, path flows for various personas, and critical bottlenecks in existing workflows
  • Participate in usability testing and results analysis
  • Identify and address impediments or roadblocks that hinder the team's progress, ensuring a smooth development process
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement through retrospectives, incorporating feedback, and implementing actionable changes to enhance team performance and product quality
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in UX or a related design field; Master's is a plus
  • 2+ years of experience as a UI/UX Designer
  • Experience in front-end development is a plus
  • A comprehensive portfolio showcasing user-centered design projects, highlighting proficiency in problem-solving, iterating on solutions, wireframing, prototyping, usability testing
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems
  • Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to change
