Job Description

This position oversees the development and execution of logistics, warehousing, and inventory strategies for locations in Latin America. Key responsibilities include managing outsourced transportation, optimizing warehouse processes, selecting vendors, developing inventory management strategies, and ensuring compliance with import/export regulations to enhance margin and better deliver to customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement supply chain best practices across all Latin American markets in accordance with industry standards.
  • Lead assessments and implementation of supply chain network optimizations for Latin American operations.
  • Select and manage transportation vendors to ensure each shipment meets required service levels and cost-effectiveness.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies across multiple warehouses and implement corrective measures to improve performance.
  • Ensure optimized and compliant import/export standards for each Latin American country.
  • Oversee the creation and optimization of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and policy statements/updates related to logistics, warehousing, and inventory.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and performance metrics to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of warehouse operations.
  • Facilitate the company's ability to leverage scale in new/existing relationships with logistics and warehousing vendors.
  • Analyze and interpret shipping data from multiple carriers.
  • Perform national bid process or lane negotiations with brokers and asset-based carriers for long haul shipments.
  • Onboard agents to implement outsourced final mile optimization from local offices as appropriate.
  • Implement standardized operating and service level agreements (SLAs), including ISO-based risk assessments.
  • Track and maintain acceptable levels of delivered in full on time (DIFOT) and internal customer service metrics.
  • Support the vice president, global supply chain with any process changes related to Latin American supply chain.
  • Advise warehouse management on packaging and outbound shipping standards/protocols.
  • Collaborate with procurement to optimize inbound shipments from vendors and negotiate price breaks on equipment due to optimized shipments.
  • Assist sales teams with accurate estimates for projects involving complex supply chain challenges.
