Job Summary:

We seek a seasoned data architect to design and evolve high-performance, scalable data systems in cloud environments. This role involves defining architecture and guiding engineering across the entire data platform.

The successful candidate will collaborate with data engineering, software development, product, and business teams to ensure data architecture supports current and future business needs and build AI-first engineering processes for rapidly delivering new products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and evolve robust architectures for data lakes, warehouses, marts, and operational data stores in cloud environments.
  • Develop and optimize real-time and batch data pipelines using tools like Apache Airflow, Pentaho, PL/SQL, and Bash scripting.
  • Architect and implement parallel processing workflows to support high-volume ingestion and transformation of structured and unstructured data.
  • Deliver AI-driven data insights and leverage AI tools to increase delivery rates for engineering projects.
  • Ensure data quality and governance across the pipeline lifecycle, including validation, auditing, and reconciliation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate functional and non-functional requirements into technical solutions.
  • Lead and mentor data engineers and cross-functional teams in best practices for data modeling, pipeline design, and cloud infrastructure optimization.
  • Establish data standards, policies, and frameworks to ensure data security, compliance, and operational resilience.
  • Optimize ETL processes for performance and scalability across diverse domains.

Requirements:

  • Proven Expertise: 7+ years in data architecture or senior-level data engineering roles, with strong experience in cloud environments.
  • Hands-On Technical Skill: Deep knowledge of PL/SQL, Bash scripting, parallel data processing, AI/ML modeling, and performance optimization in a cloud environment.
  • Cloud-Native Thinking: Strong experience designing scalable systems and cloud-first platforms.
  • Pipeline Mastery: Skilled in building and maintaining modern ETL/ELT pipelines, real-time data flows, and orchestration with Apache Airflow or similar.
  • Governance & Validation: Strong grasp of data quality, metadata management, and governance best practices.
  • Tool Agnostic: Comfortable working with multiple tools, platforms, and formats.
  • Business Alignment: Ability to understand business and analytics team needs and deliver high-performing architectures.
  • Team Leader: Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills; experience leading cross-functional efforts and mentoring engineers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with supply chain, analytics platforms, and/or food service data domains.
  • Background in designing self-service data platforms and data product models.
  • Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks relevant to data platforms.
