Who We Are Looking For

The Legal Entity Business Risk Manager (BRA), Senior Associate is a valued partner to the executives and senior leaders of STATE STREET BRASIL S.A. -BANCO COMERCIAL (“SSBC”) and will support the Brazil Legal Entity Risk Advisory VP maintain the Brazil Legal Entity Governance as well as partner with Business Risk Advisors across the Globe to ensure alignment of functions deployed in country with global standardized frameworks. The role will support the Global FX Team in global initiatives as State Street Markets is the primary business in SSBC.

The BRA will assist in the identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks as well as the cultivation of a framework of practices that enables a balance of commercial considerations with the risk excellence objectives established by business leadership.

The BRA will be experienced in sound risk management and governance practices with firsthand experience working in highly regulated business activities. Knowledge in Trading, Sales, Middle Office, Operations, Finance and Accounts payable process and controls is mandatory. Past experiences in Regulatory Change Management process as Business Impact Analysis (BIA), understanding of Enterprise Risk Management as regulatory reporting or Credit Risk Monitoring and experience in Business Continuity Strategy is a plus.

They will partner across stakeholder groups to enhance risk, control, and operational management capabilities, improve the efficacy of the control environment, and better respond to regulatory guidance/mandates through the implementation of uniform governance and risk management practices.

What you will be Responsible For
- Support the Brazil BRM Legal Entity VP to review control gaps and weaknesses that could lead to financial, reputational and or regulatory exposure and ensures they are getting the appropriate level of attention.
- Keep apprised of emerging risks through review of regulatory enforcement actions, business change initiatives, attendance at Risk forums/ committees, industry trade groups.
- Collaborative partner with business teams as well as second (Compliance & ERM) and third lines of defense, in assessment of control design and effectiveness using business knowledge to ensure control strength is commensurate with the risk being mitigated.
- Work with LE BRM VP to review and prioritize with the business material control weaknesses identified through incidents or control assurance reviews. Ensure SSBC has ongoing adherence to Issues & Incidents policy requirements and serve in a review and challenge role from identification through to completion of remediation activities.
- Ensure second and third line of defense partners are aware of changes in risk environment and where there are new emerging material risks.
- Support the Brazil BRM Legal Entity VP to manage resiliency and business continuity programs, drive reporting to governance committees, and escalate risks as appropriate.
- Support the Business Risk team globally, with the oversight of Brazil BRM LE VP, in the coordination of risk management programs including, issues and incidents management, maintaining a complete and accurate global controls inventory and ensuring compliance with regulations and corporate policies and standards.

Education & Preferred Qualifications
- Possess 1 - 3 years of experience in risk, compliance, and/or audit functions within capital markets.
- Independent strategic thinker with an understanding of regulatory, operational, market, and technology risks in financial services, preferably
