Responsible for the bidding process regarding large, complex proposals including IT service solutions, process design consulting or manufacturing services. Manages the bid submission process from initial contact through contract signing; places particular emphasis on establishing the trading terms. May also be responsible for validating/endorsing the technical solution. Employees at the highest authority levels may sign off on bids and proposals.**Working at NTT**
The Pursuit Management function provides comprehensive bid management support as well as pursuit management and drives deal strategies. The primary focus for this team is to support NTT’s major, complex and strategic opportunities. This “end-to-end” support begins in the early stages of an opportunity (pre-qualification) and continues to closure (deal won or lost) and booking.
**Major Duties & Responsibilities**:
- Manage standard bids in accordance with the NTT Pursuit Process, using related supporting tools and systems
- Project manage all aspects and stages of the bid, including: initiation and planning, kick-off, solution definition, content development, response consolidation, peer and team reviews, quality control, management review and authorization, package and deliver, post-submission administration, bid revisions, contract negotiation revisions, bid award, hand-over to delivery, win/loss review (escalating issues when appropriate)
- Creation of Bid Management Plan, bid calendars, pursuit team cadence meetings
- Coordinate contract negotiations with Legal, tracking of action items and facilitating internal reviews as needed.
- Work internally with Solution Lead, Sales Lead, and Legal to ensure completion of contracts, including editing, formatting, branding and tracking completion.
- Participate in client facing contract reviews / negotiations on a limited basis. Participation includes coordination of client submissions are supported by pursuit management. Pursuit management will assist with tracking key action items, providing limited facilitation of contracts
- Act as knowledge manager and is responsible for the creation and on-going maintenance of reusable knowledge databases.
Establish clear and effective plans for each bid and execute in accordance with these plans; manage multiple proposals concurrently
- Support maintenance of boilerplate content, adding new content, editing, reviewing and/or retiring content as needed
- Effectively manage bid resources to facilitate the development of appropriate deal strategies, solution and service architectures, commercial models and delivery/service management plans
- Ensure NTT’s risk exposure on all bids is understood, documented, communicated to all stakeholders and appropriately addressed/mitigated
- Keep an auditable trail of all bid artifacts and records on recognized company systems
Communicate accurately and timely with all stakeholders and own the responsibility for communications being received and understood
- Facilitate the compilation and delivery of all client-facing bid deliverables in accordance with client instructions and requirements as well as NTT standards
- Facilitate hand-over sessions from sales to delivery ensuring that delivery teams are well-briefed regarding solution or service, as well as the appropriate contractual terms and conditions, engagement models and transactional models, working closely with sales and solution architects
- Understand NTT’s business model and key functions and offerings, as well as local operating, commercial and general business environment and conditions
- Contribute to Pursuit Management initiatives as requested
**Education/Qualifications Required**:
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred. A high school diploma and seven years of relevant proposal management experience in a fast paced environment may be substituted
- PMP and/or APMP certification preferred
**Work Experience Required**:
- 3-5+ years of experience coordinating geographically-dispersed teams in project management scenarios
- 3-7+ years as a Pursuit Manager, preferably in IT/Telecommunications environment; proposal writing experience preferred
