**The Role**

The Contract Manager will lead the contract team, ensuring capability growth, engagement, and performance. They will oversee contract strategies, manage risks, and drive commercial value through strong governance and client alignment. Their role includes guiding negotiations, resolving disputes, and implementing improvements across projects.

**Typical responsibilities**
- Manage and prioritize contract review workload across the supported business(es) in alignment with business(es) requirements.
- Implement common ways of working to maximize value, gain efficiencies, and minimize risk to Wood.
- Provide direction, strategy, and leadership to direct reports (if applicable).
- Manage and maintain key internal interfaces within the supported business(es) contracts.
- Develop and deliver a robust business plan while supporting corporate initiatives and embedding company values in all activities.
- Assume P&L responsibility with full commercial and financial accountability, including revenue, margin, overheads, budgeting, forecasting, risk reviews, cost control, and billing.
- Maintain positive customer relationships through open, honest, and effective communication.
- Negotiate changes to contract scope or terms with the customer, following the Change Management process and managing associated risks.
- Ensure operational integrity and excellence through strong governance, subcontractor oversight, and performance reporting.
- Collaborate with leadership and peers to enhance delivery performance and identify new opportunities across the wider business.
- Explore and develop opportunities for innovation, including digitalization, technology adoption, work share, and leveraging high-value engineering centers.

**Expected**:

- Degree in Engineering, a Scientific Discipline, or a related technical field; or a degree in Commercial/Business discipline with significant experience in a technical organization
- Minimum of 5 years of Operations/Contract Management experience for small/less complex contracts; 15 years for large/complex contracts/portfolios
- Proven track record of successful delivery in a relevant industry sector
- Broad industry understanding and strong networking ability
- Experience in customer/contractor-facing communication and negotiation
- Relevant technical knowledge aligned with contract scope
- Ability to balance commercial priorities with operational excellence
- Knowledge of current HSSEA and applicable industry legislation
