**Where you fit it**
A crude trader day typically starts with catching up on trading related news, market prices and a review of publications before attending a crude oil global market review meeting. This provides an overview of the trading networks exposure, market views and current trading activities.
Crude traders spend considerable time interfacing with Producers and other 3rd parties (buyers, sellers, intermediaries, other majors, governments, etc.). This includes time on the telephone gathering market information, keeping abreast of trades that occur and executing trades. It also involves regular meetings with third parties to discuss the crude oil markets, business opportunities and market views. Regular business travel to meet customers will be an important part of the job.
