A forward-thinking, progressive hospital in regional Victoria is seeking a full time vet to join the team.

The successful applicant will receive constant support from senior vets (each with over 20 years of experience), who can assist in case discussion and provide ongoing mentoring. The practice offers team consulting, with a dedicated, qualified nurse in every consult for optimal support. Nurses at the practice are very experienced and highly skilled, helping vets' workdays to run smoothly by assisting with in-house lab work, catheter placement, blood collection, radiography and more The practice has dedicated administration staff, enabling vets to focus on being vets.

The ASAV Accredited Hospital of Excellence clinic provides modern, professional health care to small animals. Being three hours from the nearest referral centre, the role offers the opportunity to treat a larger variety of cases than the average city GP vet (referral is still an option if required).

A typical full-time role involves a four-day working week with one rostered weekday off (plus weekends). After hours is shared (1:4) with a neighbouring clinic. An experienced team of tele-triage nurses answer calls to minimise vet disturbance. Vets receive a day off after an on-call weekend.

Vets can expect to work with modern facilities and equipment, including digital DR radiography, ultrasound, digital dental radiography, endoscopy, electrocautery, video otoscope, patient monitoring, anaesthetic monitoring equipment and a fully equipped in-house IDEXX lab, including Sedivue machine and more

Applicants must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and be eligible for registration as a veterinary practitioner in Australia. Relocation assistance will be provided.

The clinic is located in a large regional centre in Western Victoria. It is approximately three hours from Melbourne. The town has art festivals, musical performances, an art gallery, major sporting events and family-friendly activities. There are also many recreational clubs, restaurants, schools, parks and gardens. For the outdoor types, there are lakes and popular rock-climbing areas located nearby, as well as some of Victoria's most beautiful national parks and wineries.
