**Job Description**:
YouGov is searching for Senior Python Developer to join its the development team for its flagship product, BrandIndex. We're looking for self-motivated developers with great problem solving skills and an ability to find their way around a complex codebase.

BrandIndex provides customers with insights into how people around the world feel about brands through data visualizations, customizable dashboards, and more. As part of the back-end team you'll collaborate on the middleware and data backend of BrandIndex

As part of the fully-remote BrandIndex development team your responsibilities will include:

- Collaborating with other developers and product owners
- Developing new features to support BrandIndex's UI and API
- Maintaining and improving BrandIndex's in-house, column-oriented distributed database
- Maintaining and improving BrandIndex's data pipeline

**Qualifications**:
**Required skills**
- 7+ years professional experience with Python
- Experience with Numpy and Pandas
- Experience writing SQL
- Experience writing RESTful APIs
- Solid object-oriented programming fundementals
- A commitment to automated testing
- Knowledge of design patterns
- How to use Git
- Experience working with Unix-like systems

**Bonus points for**
- Experience using type hinting in Python
- A preference for test-driven development
- Experience with NoSQL
- Knowledge of OAuth
- Knowledge of Kubernetes
- Experience with ZeroMQ
