Minimum qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience leading and managing a team of Pre-Sales Engineers.
- Experience as a Technical Sales Engineer in a cloud computing environment or equivalent experience in a customer and/or partner-facing role.

Preferred qualifications:

- Experience with Big Data, PaaS, and IaaS technologies.
- Experience of web/internet related technologies, architecture across SaaS, PaaS and IaaS, and cloud productivity suites.
- Understanding of solution architecture within web and mobile environments.

As a Customer Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of Pre-Sales Customer Engineers, who engage with prospects, understand and assess customer requirements, prepare and present demonstrations of Google’s Cloud products and services, guide the customer through implementation and production deployment, and address and overcome technical objections that arise throughout the process. You will manage a diverse collection of engineering professionals. You will engage directly with prospects and work cross-functionally with our Product, Support, Engineering, and Sales teams.

**Responsibilities**:

- Hire, coach, and drive a Customer Engineering team to deliver against assigned goals while prioritizing an excellent customer experience to customers and prospects.
- Manage the business operation to operate at scale, maximizing for specialization, and technical certifications to effectively cover and support the region's pipeline.
- Enable Customer Engineers (CEs) to explore the technical side of small and medium-sized business opportunities and collaboratively set the opportunity pursuit strategy with their Account Executive counterparts.
- Organize, train, and equip the CE team on go-to-market readiness. Identify gaps in CE preparedness and build plans to ensure the CE team is properly trained and equipped to successfully perform in support of the region's goals.
- Coach CEs on Google Cloud products, ensuring they can demonstrate, and prototype integrations in customer/partner environments.
