Local Unit & Position Description:
DNV Maritime South America provides maritime services to its broad range of clients across all ship tonnage types. Based on DNV focus on growth with South American owners and support of operations locally, the area is of strategic importance, hosting a maritime cluster for offshore and related shipping industry. We experience growth in coastal transportation of goods, being as well very active for bulk segment and offshore support vessels.

To support DNV growth in South America, we are looking for a pro-active and result driven Business Development Expert to join the business development team. In the role, you will be part of a very dynamic unit and drive DNV expansion in South America with focus on attracting new customers as well as retaining and make new revenue streams with our existing customers. It is required also an efficient handling of sales processes and monitoring of sales pipeline as well. You will focus largely on Brazil based customers, but providing also sale activities for Argentina, Chile and Peru.

The Business Development Expert will report to the Business Development Manager for South America Maritime in Rio de Janeiro.

**The Role**

He/she shall provides comprehensive sales services, including also marketing activities when needed, with the Business Development team. Open new opportunities in the sales pipeline, with new and existing customers, with strong focus on external customer interaction, securing business and developing customer relationships. Follow and keep sales process updated, being responsible for doing proposal preparation, submit for approval and negotiation, with proper follow-up. Ensures professional handling of sales, to facilitate reliable and efficient sales management, aligned with Corporate Sales Strategy.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Perform activities related to sales as quotations, proposal negotiation, Contract Terms and Conditions’ review and status information;
- Act as customer contact to secure highest level of responsiveness and reliability, being also the Account Manager for selected customers;
- Prepare presentations and information material in order to support sales and potential customer engagement on the opportunity hunting process;
- Keep overview of current contracts and initiates adequate renewal actions to ensure continuity of business relationship for the accounts;
- Support Sales process with marketing activities to ensure events participation;
- Participate on customer oriented events, such as conferences, exhibitions etc.;
- Select, verify and qualify leads based on defined standards and identify sales opportunities;
- Maintain the sales support tool with high quality, documenting the opportunity related actions and continue monitoring the sale stage of them;
- Manage the customer satisfaction process as required in line with global process;
- Identify and engage technical and marketing resources internally, which would be key for the opportunity qualification with customer;

Position Qualifications:

- Graduation in Engineering (preferably in Naval Architecture) with a minimum of 8 years of relevant business-related experience
- Good industry knowledge within South America
- Fluent in English and Portuguese
- Spanish knowledge would be desirable
- Microsoft office suite (Word, Powepoint, Excell)
- CRM and Business Intelligence experience as user
- Possess strong communication and listening skills
- Excellent networking skills
- Analytical, imaginative, collaborative and creative in approach to business development scenarios, strategies and tactics
- Motivation and ability to expand your network and build trust in professional relationships
- A desire to drive change and push processes forward
- Commercial attitude and a strategic mindset
- Professional and credible presence for presentations to customers at all management levels
