Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field
- 7+ years editorial, content and social media strategy experience
- 5+ years program management experience.
- Advanced knowledge of Brazilian culture, being close to what’s trending
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Portuguese
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills; bias towards data-based decision making
- Team Management skills, being able to prioritize and communicate clearly
- Able to deal with ambiguity and take the lead in defining frameworks where no prior examples exist, with high level of autonomy, including risk assessment.
- Ambitious self-starter/self-motivated, with ability to operate independently and thrive in fast-paced environment.
- Experience delivering cross functional projects and influence peers and leadership
- Seamlessly pivot between three distinct worlds: Business (understanding and respecting objectives); Ideation (rapidly conceptualizing feasible, fun social content); Production (Creating and delivering Alexa social copy as a team or by yourself)

Job summary

Are you interested in making Alexa, Alexa? We are looking for an enthusiastic, strategic, creative detail-oriented leader to own the Content and Social Media Strategy in Brazil. You will lead the team and work with multiple stakeholders to plan, build and execute content and programming strategies and experiences to delight Brazilian customers and position Alexa as truly Brazilian.

Key job responsibilities
- Own the strategy and execution of content presented by Alexa in Brazil through the devices and social media channels.
- Negotiate third party partnerships to improve Alexa content availability
- Be the gatekeeper of Alexa’s persona, voice, or tone in order to make Alexa seem natural, relevant, clever and fun for Brazil customers. You will be responsible for making judgement calls of what is appropriate to publish or not.
- Develop, implement, and drive improvement of customer-centric content programs, including prompt creation and/or content editing.
- Create and manage mechanism to track and report the performance of content experiences, using data to identify insights and how to continuously improve customers experiences.
- Work closely with cross teams (Marketing, PR, Prime Video, Amazon Music, Books, etc), to amplify Alexa experiences, driving buzz and brand awareness

A day in the life

You will be responsible for Alexa’s content guidelines and making judgement calls of what is appropriate to publish on Alexa and social media channels. With your team, you will develop engaging and ingenious experiences that delight customers using your knowledge of the Brazilian culture and zeitgeist. You’ll drive business partnership to bring relevant and delightful content to Alexa. You will use a strong testing and learning approach and continuously measure the performance of the business. You’ll working cross functionally with product managers, marketing managers and engineering teams to support their content and editorial needs.

About the team

The Alexa Brazil team defines, delivers, and create Alexa experiences in Brazilian Portuguese based on local customer needs. The team drives engagement, manages local content and Alexa's Brazilian personality, support device and feature launches and set priorities to improve quality for customers across device types (Echo, Fire TV, Alexa Built-in, and Mobile).
- Master’s degree or MBA
- Years of experience in editorial, copy writing and editing, including creative content, news headlines or marketing copy, creative writing or game
- Proficient using CMS tools and other content creation tools
- Experience with experimentation and A/B testing
- Advanced Excel
- Experience in business development or commercial areas, bringing negotiation skills.
