**Basic Qualifications**
- **Education**: Higher Education, Engineering or related to the area.
- **Experience**:This position requires a “ four-year “ engineering/technical degree, equivalent experience or completion of the Caterpillar pre-field marketing training program. Incumbents begin exhibiting ability to work independently and to communicate effectively with others in the work group, dealer/distributor personnel and customers
- **Knowledge**:“ four-year “ engineering/technical degree
- **Language**:Pre-Advanced English and Spanish Intermediary
- **Office**:Advanced

- Good communication skills

- Capacity to respond to time sensitive needs

- Ability to manage relationships with dealers/distributors, and customers

- Ability to manage time effectively

- Willingness to relocate

- Willingness to travel

Technical knowledge of diesel engines (mechanical and electronic)

**Responsibilities**:

- This position is responsible in the execution of Caterpillar and Perkins product support strategies through the dealer / distributor channel in the assigned territory, as well as to support OEM’s customer.
- Technical skills and capabilities of the position are focused on product problem management, goodwill adjudication and process creation/implementation for diesel engine service within the assigned territory.
- An essential function is to be able to make cost effective and timely decisions to minimize commercial impact for customers experiencing product health issues.
- Discuss emerging or ongoing product issues in the field with the dealer that are negatively affecting customer satisfaction
- Answer calls and investigate complaints from customers with product problems in the field and direct customers to an authorized repair facility
- Improve distributor support through technical support and capability assessment
- Visit and provide field support to customers
- Provide support for distributors to Perkins systems and accesses
