As we continue to grow, we are seeking a hands-on Chief Compliance Officer, based in Malta, to basically lead all StablR’s compliance efforts. The CCO has a deep understanding of AML/CFT regulations, compliance, and risk management and plays a pivotal role in ensuring StablR’s business adheres to all applicable local and cross-border laws and industry best practices. The CCO is also responsible for all legal matters within the organization.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

Compliance Oversight
- Establish and lead a compliance team that is fully aligned with StablR’s business model, regulatory obligations, and strategic objectives.
- Provide strategic direction on compliance to the Board of Directors, including direction for global expansion of licenses.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant EU and Maltese regulations, including the MiCAR, the AMLD, the Electronic Money Directive (EMD), PSD2, PSD3/PSR, and the Malta Financial Institutions Act.
- Stay informed about changes in these applicable regulations, adapt our processes accordingly and advise senior management on any implications and risk exposure.
- Provide reasonable assurance to the Board of Directors that there are effective, efficient and up-to-date policies and procedures in place, well understood and respected by employees, and that the company is complying with regulation.
- Prepare and present clear and concise compliance reports to the Board of Directors.
- Develop, implement, and manage an effective compliance program to ensure adherence to these regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Conduct due diligence on customers, and report suspicious activities to relevant authorities.
- Prepare and submit necessary reports to regulatory bodies.

Policy Development
- Develop, maintain and update compliance policies, procedures, and manuals.
- Provide guidance, advice and training to employees and stakeholders on compliance matters, ensuring a culture of integrity and accountability across the organization. StablR aims to promote a culture of compliance within the organisation.

Regulatory Liaison
- Interact with regulators on compliance issues.
- Contribute to the development of new regulation and represent StablR in regulatory affairs.
- Work closely together with other departments (technology, risk, finance, legal) to ensure alignment with all compliance requirements.

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**

**Profile**
- Located in Malta.
- Master in Law, Business, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications (e.g., CAMS, CFE) are a plus.
- Proven experience (minimum 10 years) in compliance roles within financial institutions, preferably in the cryptocurrency or fintech industry.
- In-depth understanding of financial regulations, AMLD, MiCAR, PSD2, EU directives, and Maltese laws, especially those related to digital assets and stablecoins.
- Ability to adapt to a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape and implement changes to compliance programs accordingly.
- Hands-on, able to do the detailed work, but at the same time able to create high level overview with focus at important topics.
- Passion to drive growth within a startup environment.
- Strong analytical, documentation and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with the ability to liaise effectively with internal teams, regulatory authorities, and external stakeholders.
