**Sales Manager - Underwater Mapping & Ocean Science**

In this role, you will be promoting Kongsberg Discovery products and solutions, predominantly focused on selling Multibeam Echosounders, Singlebeam Echosounders, Sonars, and our complementary GNSS/inertial solution systems. You will be responsible for helping the team exceed its targets by ensuring strong customer relations and working effectively with a wide range of customers and stakeholders, including survey contractors, port authorities, vessel operators, shipyards, local universities, commercial energy majors, and hydrographic governmental customers.

You will also work closely with the product rental team to maximize potential with customers. Kongsberg Discovery has a broad product portfolio, and you will need to understand, document, and communicate customer demands to internal stakeholders while effectively positioning our products and systems to appropriately convey Kongsberg Discovery’s vast value to the market.

As a provider of products and system solutions, our ambition is to cross-sell and up-sell to our customers, promoting a single source of solutions for world leaders in the maritime space. Our team works closely with product experts and sales experts at HQ, and together our global teams provide exceptional customer knowledge and relations combined with deep product and system knowledge.

You will join an experienced team, working together to maximize our sales potential.

**Key Responsibilities**:
- Develop and foster customer relations.
- Create sales and customer strategies for our products and solutions.
- Stand accountable for aggressive growth targets.
- Liaise with other company functions to ensure achievement of sales objectives.
- Preparation of quotations and manage contract negotiations.
- Dedicate time to new market prospecting and CRM upkeep.
- Coordinate customer activities with other sales team members in Kongsberg Discovery and Kongsberg Maritime.
- Travel to arrange and attend industry conferences, events, and customer meetings in the region.

**Qualifications and experience**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline, Ocean Science or Hydrographic Survey or equivalent HND with relevant experience is preferred.
- Min: 3-5 years sales and marketing experience from the mapping, research and / or renewables business.
- Strong, documented understanding and/or experience of bathymetry and mapping.
- Experience in customer negotiation, sales, rental sales and commercial processes.
- Awareness of relevant industries / competitors.
- International Travel will be required for this role. Applicants must be willing and able to travel globally.
- Multilingual with strong verbal and written skills in Portuguese and English.
- Experienced, confident presenter willing to author white papers and present to large audiences.

**Process and Compliance**:

- Implement good sales practice according Kongsberg Discovery code of ethics and compliance with all the actors involved in the region.
- Assist to Global Sales Operations to implement and qualify appropriate industry and channel partners in accordance with compliance system.
- Best use of CRM and refresh training for continued improving on CRM use and other sales tools (such as prospecting).
- Handovers and reporting for all Kongsberg Discovery Underwater Mapping and Ocean Science sales in the country.
