As a Senior Manager, Commercial Operations, you will lead a team of people and manage the associated ITO (Inquiry to Order) process Corporate Governance for the North America Signaling & Systems Business. You will be responsible for overall commercial project coordination, risk and mitigation, and associated reviews during the tollgate process. In addition, you will also be responsible for coordinating, mentoring, technical training, and coaching direct reports.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Commercial Project Management: You will coordinate all commercial aspects of projects, including the Client’s requirements, different types of customer procurements (RFP, RFQ, RFI, unsolicited bids, etc.), financial estimates, contract terms, schedules, scope compliances and project plans. You will ensure that all commercial activities are aligned with the project's goals and objectives.
- Risk and Mitigation: You will identify and assess project risks and develop and implement mitigation strategies to ensure that projects are completed on time, within the customer budget to improve the probability of winning the bid, and to the required quality standards.
- Competitive Commercial Proposals: You will be responsible for providing competitive commercial proposals that meet customer requirements and business goals. You will support Sales and P&L representatives in negotiating terms and conditions, margins, pricing, and other aspects required to close complex deals.
- Collaborate with Sales and Account Managers: You will work closely with the Sales Directors and Account Managers to ensure that customer needs are met and that all commercial aspects of the deal are aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
- Coordinate, Mentoring, Training, and Coaching: You will mentor, coordinate, technically train, and coach direct reports to ensure their professional growth and development, and that they are aligned with company standards and goals.
- Contract Management: You will be responsible for ensuring that all contracts are executed in accordance with company policies and guidelines. You will work closely with the Legal and Finance teams to ensure that all contracts are compliant and meet all legal and financial requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related fields.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a similar role, with experience in managing people and complex train control and signalling engineering proposals.
- Strong leadership skills, good communication and business acumen.
- Experience in developing and implementing commercial strategies and proposals.
- Ability to work collaboratively with Sales and Account Managers.
- Strong understanding of risk management and mitigation strategies.
- Knowledge of legal and financial requirements for contracts.
Desired Qualifications:
- MS Word, Excel, PPR, MS Project.
- Sales Force proficiency.
- Prepare bid’s financial analysis; risk matrix; project causal; work with the scheduler to prepare project cash flow; work with SMEs to obtain reliable cost data.
- Ability to conceptualize and write compelling, marketing-oriented proposal narratives and oral presentation slides from scratch.
- Skills to research, compose, review, illustrate, and edit technical documents, materials, and reports. Communicate ideas and instructions clearly and concisely.
