This role involves coordinating advisor activities, capacity building, program execution, and outreach initiatives.

As the EducationUSA Country Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing, training, and supporting EducationUSA advisors, implementing outreach strategies, and ensuring the successful execution of educational programs and events across Brazil. This position requires strong organizational skills, cultural competence, and the ability to communicate effectively in both English and Portuguese.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advisor Training & Capacity Building:
  • Support Regional Educational Advising Managers (REAC) in training EducationUSA advisors on programs such as Opportunity Funds, fair management, and social media strategies.
  • Build capacity among advisors, high school counselors, and higher education institutions to promote U.S. study opportunities.
  • Marketing & Visibility:
  • Develop and manage social media campaigns for EducationUSA events (fairs, roadshows, virtual webinars).
  • Increase program visibility through digital outreach and engagement initiatives.
  • Program Coordination:
  • Consolidate virtual and in-person programs across EducationUSA centers in Brazil.
  • Plan and execute pre-departure orientations for students traveling to the U.S.
  • Financial & Academic Support:
  • Monitor funds for EducationUSA Brazil programs and support advisor financial and academic training.
  • Strategic Planning:
  • Collect, analyze, and submit strategic plan data from 47 EducationUSA centers.
  • Collaborate with REAC to provide data to the U.S. Embassy for inclusion in the country's annual strategic plan.
  • Reporting & Meetings:
  • Participate in monthly and ad-hoc meetings with REAC, the U.S. Embassy, and other stakeholders.
  • Submit monthly reports detailing activities, risks, mitigation strategies, and upcoming plans.
  • Travel:
  • Occasional domestic travel to events and meetings across Brazil.
  • Limited international travel as needed for training or conferences.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual in English and Portuguese (required).
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, International Relations, Administration, or related field (preferred).
  • Strong experience in program management, coordination, or training, preferably in education or international exchange programs.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a geographically distributed team.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within Brazil and internationally.
