We are seeking a talented individual to join our Specialty team at Marsh. This role will be based in Sao Paulo. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office

The Specialty Leader at Marsh is responsible for defining and executing the business strategy for the specialty area, leading and developing a high-performing team of professionals, and establishing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and insurers.  This role requires a deep understanding of risks specific to targeted industries within Brazil, enabling the Specialty Leader to provide tailored risk advisory and innovative solutions that meet the unique needs of clients in those sectors. The Specialty Leader will oversee market analysis to identify opportunities and trends, manage the unit's P&L, drive innovation in insurance and reinsurance products, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulations, and collaborating with other departments to ensure integrated service delivery, all aimed at maximizing client satisfaction and fostering sustainable business growth.

We will count on you to:

Client Relationship Management:

• Lead engagement with key clients and manage large, complex projects by directing the project team's efforts and developing strategic solutions that address client needs and challenges.

• Oversee the acquisition of new specialty clients and establish relationships to drive revenue growth

• Actively promote and uphold the brand and reputation of the specialty area in Brazil.

Sales and Business Development:

• Identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to expand the client base in the specialty area.

• Take responsibility for managing the P&L of the specialty unit, including budgeting, financial forecasting and performance analysis.

• Define and implement the long-term business strategy at the market level, ensuring alignment with global and regional strategies.

• Conduct market analyses to identify trends, competition, and opportunities, adjusting specialty strategies as necessary.

• It´s important the experience in terms of innovation in products and services, and the leader should know how to foster an environment that promotes creativity.

Collaboration:

• Responsible for leading collaboration across multiple departments, ensuring the integration of services, operational efficiency, compliance, and talent development, all aimed at delivering high-quality solutions and providing a positive experience for clients.

Thought Leadership:

• Manage the Specialty teams to drive high performance, foster strong community engagement, and promote leading-edge consulting and thought leadership.

• Act as a thought leader within the organization, providing insights and recommendations based on industry trends, challenges, and best practices.

• Ensure compliance with all professional and transparency standards while delivering exceptional service to clients.

Industry-Specific Risk Advisory:

• Leverage deep knowledge of risks associated with targeted industries in Brazil to provide clients with the best risk advisory and solutions tailored to their specific needs.

• Stay abreast of industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging risks to ensure that clients receive timely and relevant advice.

• Foster strong connections with key stakeholders in targeted industries, to be better positioned to deliver tailored solutions that effectively address client needs. Proactively engage with industry leaders, regulators, and experts to remain informed about the latest developments and challenges, ultimately driving greater success for both clients and the organization, enhancing the leader's ability not only to influence market trends but also facilitate the acquisition of more relevant business opportunities for the company.

What you need to have:

• Extensive Experience: Extensive experience in Consulting (over 15 years) in Insurance or Reinsurance, with expertise in placement, insurance underwriting or risk consulting.

• Networking Skills: Proven ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels but specially with the C-suite, particularly with global and multinational companies. Must have an existing and well-established network of relationships among C-suite executives.

• Commercial Acumen: Sales-driven mindset with the ability to identify, capitalize on, and convert business opportunities into closed deals for Marsh.

• Advisory Skills: Strong advisory skills with the ability to provide strategic guidance and tailored solutions to clients. Proven expertise in assessing clients' needs and delivering actionable recommendations. Ability to build trust and facilitate effective communication throughout the advisory process.

• Client Management Expertise: Strong track record of managing top-tier clients and delivering tailored solutions that drive client success.

• Market Insight: Deep understanding of the Specialty industry, including current trends, challenges, and best practices.

• Interpersonal and Leadership Skills: The ability to motivate and develop talent within the team

• Crisis Management: Handling difficult situations is crucial in this position

• Bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or related disciplines; an MBA or advanced degree is a distinct advantage.

• Solid experience in Consulting (+15 years) in Insurance or Reinsurance (Placement or Risk Consulting). Also experience in leading diverse teams, given that the role involves working with various stakeholders.

• Solid experience and leadership of at least one Specialty practice.

• Solid Placement and insurance underwriting background, knowledge and management experience. Candidates from other areas with interesting qualities and leadership skills are also welcome.

• Fluent in Portuguese, Spanish and English.
