Job Description: Legal Assistant
Job Objective:
Provide administrative and legal support to the team of lawyers, ensuring the efficient organization of documentation, preparation of reports, and management of deadlines and schedules. The Legal Assistant will also be responsible for conducting legal research and supporting the drafting of legal documents in both Spanish and English.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation, review, and organization of legal documents, contracts, and minutes.
Maintain up-to-date legal files (both physical and digital), ensuring easy access and compliance with legal standards.
Manage and organize the lawyers' calendars and procedural deadlines, ensuring timely compliance with important dates.
Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for legal cases.
Draft and edit legal correspondence and other documents in Spanish and English.
Translate legal documents from Spanish to English and vice versa, as needed.
Coordinate with clients, providers, and other parties involved in cases, providing updates and relevant information.
Prepare case summaries and reports for the lawyer's review.
Assist in organizing meetings and hearings, including the preparation of required documents.
Perform general administrative tasks such as handling phone calls, emails, and legal correspondence.
Requirements:
Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of experience as a Legal Assistant or in a related administrative legal role.
Advanced English proficiency (written and spoken).
Knowledge of legal procedures and local and international regulations.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.
Capacity to work under pressure and handle confidential information with discretion.
Proficiency in computer tools (Microsoft Office, legal document management software, etc.).
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Desirable Skills:
Degree or training in Law, Legal Sciences, or related fields.
Experience handling international cases.
Knowledge of case management tools or specialized software.
Job Conditions:
Full-time (on-site).
Compensation commensurate with experience and responsibilities of the position.
This position is ideal for proactive individuals with strong organizational skills and a commitment to precision and quality in legal work.
