Position Summary
The field researcher is responsible for the execution of the biological efficacy evaluation program for Gowan products at the experimental field station located in Artur Nogueira, São Paulo, Brazil.

  • Relationship: Brazil Development Coordinator

Role Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the importation of product samples for evaluation.
  • Safeguard imported samples.
  • Review and plan field trials for fiscal years.
  • Implement and evaluate scheduled field trials.
  • Establish field trials with GWN products.
  • Evaluation of the trials according to the assigned protocol.
  • Collect trial data and statistical analysis with ARM.
  • Make presentations in Power Point of these results.
  • Communicate the results only to people authorized to receive the information

Education

  • Crop protection or Plant Science Degree (Agronomist, MSc, PhD preferred).

Experience / Skills / Abilities

  • 3-5 years field experience in development or assessment of plant protection products on field – both conventional and bio-rational products including Insecticides, Fungicides, Herbicides, Nematicides, Plant Grown Regulators
  • Portuguese and English-Speaking Mandatory, Spanish desirable. Management of Office platforms, Internet, Outlook, ARM statistical program.
  • High level of confidentiality

Job Expectations / Working Conditions

  • E The ideal candidate for this position will hold a degree in crop protection or plant science (preferably a Master's or Doctorate) and have 3-5 years of experience evaluating the biological efficacy of chemical and biological pesticides in permanent crops, vegetables, and other important crops. They must possess in-depth knowledge of crops, pests, diseases, and weeds. They must have experience calibrating spray equipment and designing and implementing field experiments using standard field research techniques.
  • They must have knowledge of evaluation techniques for insecticides, fungicides, herbicides, nematicides, and chemical and biological growth regulators in field conditions.
  • The successful candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and will be able to communicate with fellow researchers. They possess strong oral and written communication skills, with experience translating detailed scientific information into practical applications. They will also be required to produce professional reports in word, as well as PowerPoint presentations and statistical analyses in ARM format.
  • He or She will be a proactive individual, capable of taking initiative and conducting yourself professionally with little direct supervision. The ideal candidate will be an excellent teammate and excel as a key technical expert.
