Brazilian Portuguese Language Teacher

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate teacher of Portuguese as a Foreign Language (PFL) to join our team in a professional, welcoming and dynamic environment.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Portuguese, Teaching, Linguistics or related areas.
  • Native Portuguese speaker with advanced level English.
  • Reliable internet connection and a quiet space for online teaching.
  • Familiarity with digital teaching tools (Zoom, Google Drive, etc.).
  • Minimum of 1 year's experience teaching Portuguese as a Foreign/Second Language.
  • Punctual, committed, creative and able to adapt materials and methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills, patience and the ability to motivate adult learners.

Main responsibilities:

  • Deliver online lessons (small groups and one-to-one).
  • Prepare and/or update teaching materials under the guidance of the Academic Director.
  • Monitor student progress, keeping basic attendance and progress records.
  • Contribute to pedagogical meetings and, occasionally, to cultural projects and support materials.

Additional information:

  • Preferred availability: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2pm to 6pm (with the possibility of more hours in the future).
  • Format: Fully online.
  • Target audience: Adult learners.
  • Contract type: Freelance.
  • Expected start date: 01/09/2025.
